The Versatile Blogger Award

First, off I want to thank Liz and Michelle for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award!

When you consider nominating a fellow blogger for the Versatile Blogger Award, consider the quality of the writing, the uniqueness of the subjects covered, the level of love displayed in the words on the virtual page. Or, of course, the quality of the photographs and the level of love displayed in the taking of them.

Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Include a link to their blog
  • Tell the person who nominated you 7 facts about you
  • Select 15 blogs/bloggers you’ve recently discovered or followed recently

The Facts

I’m going to try and take Liz’s approach to this and share some new things that I think most of you don’t already know about me to keep it interesting!

  1. I have really bad road rage. I am normally very sweet and kind, but the moment someone cuts me off or – Heaven forbid – doesn’t use their blinker, it’s like a switch flips. “Thanks for the blinker, nitwit!” I’m still a very safe driver, I just am very moody. I’m always on my best behavior, however, when I’m driving with other people in the car. :’)
  2. My mom is one of my best friends. I talk to her on the phone usually at least once a week just to catch up and see how each other is doing. She keeps me updated on the family back home and I share all my little daily adventures with her. She’s also the first person I call when I’m bored and don’t want to do my homework.
  3. I really dislike coffee. I can’t wrap my head around everyone’s obsession of this beverage that doesn’t even kind of taste good. If I’m drinking coffee, it’s because I’ve fallen asleep at my desk at work or am staying up late studying. Even then, I’ve put a ton of sugar and creamer in it. If I had whipped cream and caramel on hand, I’d definitely top it with that, too! ;) With that being said, one of my favorite smells growing up was my dad brewing coffee in the morning. I may not like the taste of it, but it smells soo good.
  4. I believe the best moments in life are unplanned and come when you least expect them to. Some of my favorite memories with Andrew aren’t necessarily glamorous: leaning my head on his shoulder, completely relaxed, as we drive with the windows down; dancing in the street in the middle of the night; studying together and looking up at the same time, just simply being content in each others’ presence. You don’t plan those things, you just feel them.
  5. I still play Neopets. I have no shame. (Wanna be my neofriend??)
  6. Every summer, from 6th grade through 12th grade, I traveled to different parts of the USA (and even Puerto Rico!) to do construction and community service work. They were wonderful experiences where I met some of the most beautiful people and share Jesus.
  7. My feet are always really cold, but if I wear socks they get too hot and start sweating. At night I like to snuggle my feet against Andrew’s because his are always so warm!

The Nominees

I’m not sure who has and hasn’t been nominated or who has already done this because I’ve read so many of your posts already, so I’m going to cheat and leave this tag open! I tag YOU!

Leave a link in the comments to your post! I’d love to learn more about all of you! :)

  1. Oh, man, if you ever drove in Korea, you’d be road raging like mad! The people drive here so horribly!

I used to not care too much for coffee until I discovered really GOOD coffee, and I’ve been hooked ever since XD;;; But I understand that it’s not for everyone!

Nothing wrong with Neopets, btw! XD I used to play them, but now I don’t. I think it’s great you still like them!

And woot for all the travelling you do! Kudos to you for doing community service work! Those are some great experiences. ^^

    1. Oh man, I could not even imagine driving in another country. When we went to the Dominican, I really thought we were going to die! Haha I’m actually a very nervous driver – which is why I think I get road rage because it makes me so angry when other people aren’t being safe. I do not think I could drive where people drive (relatively to the US) crazy!

I drink coffee solely for the caffeine at my work. I add lots of sugar and creamer haha. I’m still trying, hoping that eventually I’ll find something I really like.

  2. I was going to tag you too but I figured you were busy writing all your wedding posts! Here is my post. :)

I also put facts in my post that not many people would know. Definitely makes it more interesting especially since a lot of us blog buddies have been buddies for a while!

I couldn’t get my head around coffee either. I used to drink it every week or so, but now I just drink it occasionally. It is one of those drinks I just drink when I feel like shit and need a pick-me-up. It doesn’t do the wake-me-up thing it does for other people. I also agree that it tastes nowhere near amazing though smells pretty good. I like iced coffee though. :P

I also agree that the best moments are the unplanned ones. :)

It’s awesome that you have such a good relationship with your mum. My relationship with my mum has definitely improved over the years. We used to bicker all the time but now we have a lot of good heart-to-hearts.

I don’t play Neopets anymore haha. But that was how I first started getting into web design. :P You definitely shouldn’t have any shame! I have heard a lot of stuff about how it has changed over the years. From memory, I remember visiting all the ‘daily’ spots like the Giant Omelette, Snowager, Money Tree, Tombola (I think?) and Coltzan’s Shrine… and I loved playing Meerca Chase because I have a super slow connection so on Fast mode I would get top scores! LOL. Pick Your Own was my favourite game too.

    1. Yes! I love learning new things about all my blogging friends that I’ve known for a long time! :)I didn’t know you had trichotillomania! That is really interesting because I’ve never heard of anyone else having it. Andrew had a mild case a few years back but now it’s more of a nerves/stress tic that I catch him doing subconsciously sometimes.

Neopets was how I first got into web design and blogging, too! I think it kicked off so many people on that route! So funny from a kid’s internet game. It is pretty different now – they’ve added a lot of things, but they still have almost all of the stuff you mentioned! Dailies are definitely a must :) Haha! I was never good at Meerca Chase because my internet was so choppy the game would freeze and then I’d run into a red negg and game over. :( I love to collect avatars and stamps though!

  3. Totally there with you on the coffee! I don’t care for it (well I like frappe’s at McDonald’s but they taste more like shakes and have very little coffee), but that’s it. But I love the smell of it!

  4. I was nominated by Michelle. It’s so hard to find bloggers who hasn’t been nominated, yet.
Believe it or not, I am actually a coffee and a tea drinker. I do notice that if you keep drinking the same beverage, day after day, it will not give you that pick-me-up that you need. I guess this is due to your tolerance level getting high. I don’t drink much coffee in the morning, as I tend to drink it at night for homework and studying. The same for drinking tea. Though, I usually drink tea with honey in it, when I am sick or have really bad allergies that feels like my throat is on fire.
I like finding out new things about my friends who I’ve known for years. I was considering in doing a 100 fact challenge or something. I didn’t know you have road rage, and that your feet get cold! My feet do the exact same thing. I’m just hoping it’s poor circulation, as that’s what I’ve been told. What do you think it is?

  5. It was interesting to read these facts about you!

I didn’t like coffee for a long time. Now I drink it maybe two times a day. It’s not something that I really love the taste of, but I do like the smell. >.<

Wow, that is so cool that you are still playing Neopets! I haven't played that in such a long time.
