Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s day to all you mom’s out there! <3 You all are amazing and do so much for your children without getting half the credit that you guys deserve. So enjoy all the flowers that you’re going to be showered with. ;)

I just want to talk about my mom for a second. She is one of the most amazing, inspiring, and strong woman I know. I know that this comes from a bit of a biased point of view, because she is my mom and all, but she really is great. She came from a not so pleasant family life when she was young, and she paid for her own business school and has had to work hard for everything she wanted. She’s been a stay at home mom most of her life and cleans houses as a part time job; it’s a crummy job, but she does it so she can help provide for us. I think I’ve only seen her cry a few times in my entire life, and she exhibits Christ-like attitudes in all that she does. She’s not perfect, but she’s one of the best role-models I could ask for. <3

She’s always been there for me as a friend, but she’s also been my parent, which can be a hard thing to do. You want your kids to be happy, but in the long run, you have to lay down the rules and do some things that make them temporarily unhappy, but it builds them and prepares them to be independent. And my mom has done that for me. I often whine and complain that she’s so strict, but I’ve learned to appreciate it because those rules helped me shape me to who I am today. I didn’t realize it then, but I do now.

We’re having my grandpa and aunt over for lunch and my dad’s BBQing. I just got done helping my mom prepare all the other sides: fruit salad, baked beans, baked potato salad, strawberries, deviled eggs, and more. We’re having quite the shin-dig. :P

It’s just going to be an overall nice day with my family and with my mom. We don’t give her half the credit that she really deserves. I hope you can spend the day with your mother as well and just show her how much you appreciate her.

  1. Yay! Happy Mother’s Day! I love my mom, both my parents! I don’t think I would be this far without my mom (well technically you could argue I wouldn’t here at ALL, but let’s not go there. lol).
I’ll be celebrating by going golfing with her (a favorite pasttime). To all, have a happy mother’s day. Appreciate what you have.
    (hmm, reminiscent of Danny Boy?)

  2. Happy Mama’s day to your mama! I agree all mothers should be treasured and showered with flowers and what not. I don’t have a mom who cares about me, but I still wish her a happy mama’s day. My Grandmother’s in Heaven, so she knows I miss her and is wishing her a happy Mama’s day. But yeah that’s nice of you guys to have a BBQ. I wish we were going to have one. But the weather here is ridiculous. I mean heck one day it’s like 90 degrees and than the next day it’s in the 80’s and now it’s all cloudy UGH! I got a sunburn on Friday afternoon lol. My dad noticed it when he came home and said “You’re all burnt.” I was like “What? You’re kidding!” it went on from there but yeah my entire face is burnt, as well; as my arms and chest area. LOL. I guess that’ll teach me to walk in the heat from one city to the next lol. Oh well. As far as dearjamie.net it’s dead. I didn’t really want it, as I have this one but it just fit because I was dating Andrew and now I’m not so I don’t want it anymore. It’s just ugh why did I have the impulse to buy it?UGH! Well; I’ll probably still be around but most likely on wordpress or something like that but not having a domain of my own anymore. If at all. I don’t know yet. I’m still debating on that. Well; I hope you have a wonderful Sunday and a BBQ!! Take care!

  3. Aww :)! That is sweet :)! Happy mothers day to your mother (:. Thats what makes them special. They work hard- doing the ups and downs for the family. :) I hope you had fun spending Mothers Day with your mom and the family :D!

You are one lucky person to have a caring mother :). My mother is strict. But not too strict. I always hate it. Because I want to hang out with my friends, but I guess its for the best. :/.

:O I think thats the one I`m doing! 3 essays with 120 minutes to plan em all and write it :/. I don`t know if its possible. But I`m down for it :P.

This reminded me of a kid from my friend`s school last year :/. He is a senior- with a month of school to go. He stabbed the principal of that school. The principal survived. And the boy… Went to jail :/.

    Good point of view (:

    Take care ;D

  4. I know Mother’s Day already passed but still, Happy Mother’s Day to your mom. Your mom is great and amazing as what you have said. Doing all of those stuffs.
I guess we’re somehow similar because she did stuffs like that. I mean, when she was still young, she’s working already. She’s the oldest one too making her the breadwinner when she has three siblings. She was also the one who paid for her tuition, she worked for it.
I really admire her. I love my mom. Cheers for all the mom out there.

  5. Aw, what a nice blog. :) I feel the same way about my mom, though, I doubt that I could write nearly as good a blog as you did, haha.

All that food sounds so good! Hopefully you had a good time!

I did spend the day with my mom. Me and my family went out to lunch with my grandparents and then went to the movies. It was a pretty nice day. :P

  6. Being a parent (especially the mum) is so difficult. It’s really wonderful that you understand your mum and what she’s doing for me.

My mum has been a housewife for a long time. I remember when I was young I hardly appreciated the things she done for me. All I did was complain about the things that I didn’t get. She did not let me do many things because she was worried about me and did not want me to go down the wrong path. I never understand anything till recently years.

Mum’s are the most wonderful people in the world.

  7. Even though dad (usually) make the money I believe that the moms are the ones that hold the households together. That is so sweet what you wrote about your mother. You have every right to be proud and inspired by your mother. It’s hard to go through school and earn an education on your own. My mother did the same, she came from a poor immigrant family and she worked her way up to cooperate level. However she had me and then quit. She was a stay at home mom too. I would not change that for the world. I love that my mom was a stay at home mom. It was easier when I was younger and we grew closer. She knows my friends and I know she approves of them. Now she works full time, she started when I was in 7h grade. She also cares what I do. I also believe, like you, that mothers are not apperciated enough.

Thank you! and yea I took it on a bridge, haha my friend and I went with the group who wanted to take a pic of a nice view lol. I want to go to Greece and England! I hope to go to England when I graduate! Which country do you recommend the most? And you guys are gonna have tons fo fun.

I studied two days before my AP exam. haha my bad. I bet you did fine on APComp :)

awww well at least some people showed up. Last year I had a big party so I loved it a lot more. But it caused some drama with one of my friends. uggg well we are on speaking terms now though.

I need to post my pictures on fb first lmfao. I’ll get to them one day. I took over 1000 pics lol

  8. I’m glad it sound like you had a good mother’s day. That sounds perfect.
Your mom sounds fabulous. It is incredible how moms figure out how to teach us lessons they probably didn’t like to learn themselves. I hope I can raise my future children as well as my mom did me.

I don’t know why I read such deep books. But fiction books certainly don’t capture me like they used to. They have to be more intense, like fantasy, to get my attention.
