Georgie asked…

What was your favourite childhood game?

I loved to play The Farming Game. It’s an old, old board game that my family had far before I was born. It’s basically monopoly, but with a farming theme. No one ever wanted to play it with me because it took sooo long to finish a game, but I loved it!

What is the meaning of your name?

I have read different meanings for the name Rebecca: ‘faithful wife’ and ‘snare’ being the two most common. When my parents named me though, I think they just liked the way it sounded. My parents had four children and all of our names start with an ‘R’ except for one of my brothers (my parents couldn’t agree on an ‘R’ name they both liked!) so it fit with the pattern.

Do you use a watch to tell the time? Why or why not?

No. I generally use my phone to tell the time since I have it on or near me practically all of the time. I’m not opposed to wearing a watch, but I can never find one I really like and it seems silly to spend money on something I don’t really need.

What is your favourite word?

I love the word “reminisce.” It sounds and looks beautiful, and it evokes happiness as you look back at past memories.

What is one thing you have on your to-do list right now and when will you tackle it?

Oh man, I have so much on my to-do list right now, and all pretty much wedding related. The thing that I will probably tackle first is these cute little silverware and napkin bows that I found on Pinterest. Since we are not having real silverware at the wedding, I thought these would be really cute to do. We have all the materials, so we will probably start (And hopefully finish!) them this week.

What are you looking forward to in the next couple of months?

This is an easy one. :) I cannot wait for my wedding in August! I am really excited to marry my best friend – but I am also ready for all this planning to just end! :P

What is something you need to do regularly but absolutely despise doing?

Laundry. I hate, hate, hate laundry.

Describe the worst problem you have had with technology that made you very frustrated.

I don’t know if this is the biggest/worst problem I’ve ever had, but for my Business Communications class I had to take about a year ago, we were required to use thick, resume paper for everything we turned in. We weren’t allowed to put our paper in the school’s printers
(which made no sense… but whatever) so I was just going to use Andrew’s. I spent five hours trying to get his printer to connect with my laptop. I did everything possible – tried the chords that came with the printer, tried wifi, tried downloaded drivers I thought I needed and other software and eventually just gave up because nothing worked. I was so frustrated to the point of tears because it was something I needed to have done but couldn’t because I couldn’t get the printer to work! Ugh, it gets me upset even thinking about it! I ended up having someone else from the class printing it on their printer because I never got it to work.

Do you think that there should be a minimum age for children to use the internet for interacting with other people (just playing games on the internet is okay)?

I think that’s something a parent should decide. I think computer usage should be minimized in younger years, but not necessarily prohibited. But for their own safety there should be some sort of parental supervision or checks to make sure everything is appropriate and safe.

What is one thing in your hometown, or one thing about your hometown, that you really love?

Do I have to pick just one? There is so much that I love about St. Louis, so I would have to say the culture. If you live in St. Louis, you love Cardinals baseball, toasted ravioli, and just living in this town.

Which famous person would you love to have lunch with?

I don’t know why but this question is really hard for me to answer. Maybe Esther from the Bible? I can’t image what it would have been like to go through what she did so that would definitely be an interest conversation about courage and faith.

I Nominate

Gillian, Cat, Kya, Bhairavi, and Claudine. :)
