I mentioned in passing that my sister had found an apartment and moved out of the house. At first, I didn’t think I was going to miss her that much because we were never super close, mainly because of the eight year age difference, but now that she’s been gone for about a week, I’ve really missed her. I’m really excited for her though, since this is a big step forward in her life. It’s exciting. 
Lately, I’ve been so lazy. I haven’t wanted to do anything. I just want to sit on my butt and revel in being able to sit on my butt. I recently read Clarisse’s post about being reminiscent and doing a lot of things that she used to do. She mentioned a video game she started playing again that she used to play and I instantly thought of this game that I used to play all the time: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature.
I know, I know, loser.
Basically, this original PlayStation game (super old!) starts off with this little boy visiting his grandfather’s farm for the summer. He then grows up and his grandfather dies, leaving the run-down farm. The mayor of the village says that he can rightfully inherit the farm if after three years he can get it up and running and the villagers like him.
So in the game, you play this boy (er, adult?) and you can grow plants and raise chickens and cows and sheep. But there’s a lot more than just the farm. There’s a mountainous area and village people and you can marry. There’s just a ton of stuff to do. My favorite parts are always the village festivals.
But anyways, it sounds kind of lame (or a lot lame) but I was obsessed with it when I was in elementary school. My brothers were really into all the fighting and shooting games and I didn’t really care for them. I also really sucked at them, haha. So I was already hooked because it wasn’t that type of game at all. It was a game with a relatively simple concept and there were no right or wrong things to do (except like, killing your animals. But that’s just duh.).
I remember sitting in my third grade class and planning which crops I was going to plant and how much I would sell them for and buy them for and calculating my profit just from crops for that specific season, etc. I’m telling you, this game consumed all of my time. And then after a while I grew bored of it and half a year or a year would pass by and I’d start playing it again and play it nonstop. This was kind of a repetitive process.
While I started playing the game in about the third grade, I think I finally beat it in the eighth grade. Kinda crazy. 
And, on another note, this is the only video game I have ever beaten in my life. Is that bad? Ah, who cares? Haha.
Back to my original point, Clarisse’s post made me think about that game and made me want to play it again. So I dragged out my brother’s abandoned PlayStation 2 and asked if I could play the game.
Sooo for the last two days in my free time, I’ve nonstop played this game. I still love it, and after I finish this blog post and return some comments and do some homework, I’m dragging my butt downstairs and playing it some more. After probably three or four weeks I’ll grow bored of it again, but it’s just one of those things that you never get tired of and it always brings back happy memories. 
I remember playing Harvest Moon SUPER DUPER long time ago… it was pretty addicting but I didn’t get very far lol #failed
I’m still into video games..but not as much as I use to, which makes me feel kind of sad because I had so much fun when I did.

My friends told me it was addicting and were always trying to convince me to play it. I didn’t own a PS though (and still don’t). Although yeah, it’s funny how you could get hooked on tending farms and feeding cows in a virtual world right? Makes me only yearn for the real thing (even though I’m not much for farming, I do love the outdoors though and would probs spend the afternoon jumping into haystacks).
I used to play a game like Harvest Moon. I don’t remember what it was called, but I didn’t (and don’t) have a PS. I got really bored with it really fast, because I started playing it on my grandfather’s ranch. Naturally, I figured it would be better to go outside.

You never know your true feelings until things actually happen! Soon enough, it’ll be your turn to move out and enjoy the real world. I’ve heard of Harvest Moon before, but I never reallly played it before :/. I guess the name gives out everything XD!
If you’re already thinking about planning out your gameplay in 3rd grade, there’s limitless possibilities out there. I remembered in 3rd grade, I was thinking about what the lab ray has in stored for me in Neopets XD!
It’s nice to go back to the things you used to do. But remember, there’s still your site XD! These games are just for temporary satisfaction :P.
I don’t know how a musician can forget their instrument. But I don’t really want to let it bother me that much. -_-.
I’m close to graduating, yet I can’t find a college to go to yet :/. Rejections and waitlists sucks!

Wow, I actually got mentioned in a post! It’s embarrassing how much this flatters me, haha.
I never got to play Harvest Moon, simply because we didn’t really have any game consoles or anything until I was like 10 and we got our PS2! I’d hear about people playing Harvest Moon before that time, and by the time we had something to play it on, nobody really played it anymore.
I get caught in that cycle too, but with Pokemon. I’ve played Sapphire, Pearl and Black. Pearl and Black, I actually bought for nostalgia’s sake, haha. Like sometimes a new Pokemon game would come out and I’d suddenly feel like playing Pokemon again, so my brother and I end up buying the two versions of the latest one, playing them until we get bored, which takes maybe a month. Then like a year later, we pick up our DSs and play again for a while.
My current nostalgia addiction got cut short though since the entire downstairs of our house smells of varnish, paint thinner and other things, and it’s been smelling like that for days. Unfortunately though, since our PS2’s downstairs, we can’t play.
I’ve heard of Harvest Moon and though it doesn’t sound appealing to me..I’m glad you’re enjoying it ;D I do that a lot with games especially the ones I enjoy. I play heavily into games at least in my free time. Lol
I’m more interested in Animal Crossing though.
So your sister is leaving. You must be really missing her now. Actually, I thought I’ll not miss my family–when I left our house to opt for a dormitory when I started out in college, but I missed them after sometime. Maybe its true that you’ll realize what you have until you lose it.
Harvest Moon. I have my own memories with it as well. But I was not able to finish it. Got too little time and the Gameboy was my cousin’s.

Harvest Moon is a game I am not familar with. I had PS and I never heard of it, yet it sould like the sims and now I want to play it. LoL
My brother is 6 years older than me and we were never really close either. But I still missed him when he moved out like 7 or 8 years ago, and I still miss him now. It’s just something that happens I guess, hehe.
Have you graduated yet? I looked back one post to see your prom pictures. You all look so nice. Everyone does at prom.
That game sounds kinda like Farmville, based on just that description. But I am sure it is way way better if it’s a video game rather than Facebook game. I am not good at fighting games either and I’d much rather play something like Mario. Cute and sweet!

I never had any games consoles or anything as a child: I did have my own computer from the age of about seven, it was my Dad’s old one, but I don’t really remember using it much until I was about ten, and I never really had many games that were any good. I do like the sims 2 and sims 3 though, a lot. :3
That game actually sounds really fun! I’m the same way with playing the Sims. I will play non-stop for a month and then stop for a few months before starting again and getting addicted. I wonder if I can find this game for free somewhere to play online.
